Tree pruning and felling

The Municipality of Oradea, through the specialized structures of the City Hall, has the obligation to ensure the safety of people who may be affected by breakage and detachment of trees and their elements, due to advanced ageing or poor phytosanitary condition.

All pruning work and/or interventions of any kind in the crown of trees and shrubs located in green spaces or on other types of land with forest vegetation outside the national forest fund, located within the urban area, on land belonging to the public or private domain of the Municipality of Oradea, shall be done under the law, after applying for and obtaining the pruning authorization issued by the Municipality of Oradea and in compliance with the provisions specified in the authorization.

The applicant shall submit the application for the authorization of works by filling in the standard form that can be found in the Pyramid - Counter Hall of the City Hall of Oradea, but also by clicking on this link, specifying the reasons for which they request felling and/or interventions with felling of any kind in the tree crown.

The requests of the applicants for authorization of tree/shrub felling works and/or interventions with felling of any kind in the crown of the trees will be evaluated in the field, on the site of the trees/shrubs for which the request is formulated, by the specialized staff of the Municipality of Oradea.

Requests from citizens, when they are part of an owners' association, regarding pruning proposals and/or interventions with pruning of any kind in the crown of trees in the residential blocks, will be submitted to the owners' associations and they will forward them to the City of Oradea for approval.

The City Hall of Oradea does not issue a felling authorization for felling works and/or interventions of any kind in the crown of trees and shrubs located on other lands with forest vegetation outside the national forest fund and which do not belong to the public or private domain of the Municipality of Oradea (private yards, areas managed by individuals or legal entities that do not belong to the public domain).

In emergency situations due to extreme weather events, where a tree or part of a tree poses an imminent danger to people or property, citizens can report the incident to the emergency number 112.
