Walks along the Criș Repede – RIVERSIDE

Oradea is crossed from east to west by the river Crișul Repede, whose banks have been developed and modernized over time, according to the modernization projects undertaken by the municipality.

In general, the modernization or stabilization works of the river bank have been carried out by the Crișuri Water Basin Administration, and in the last 10 years, promenades, bicycle and jogging paths or rocky areas have been created. At the same time, natural areas have been preserved, allowing local wildlife to flourish freely.

Thus, they were created:

- Freedom Street Promenade, made in the upper part of the river embankment, allowing the Criș Meadow in front of this promenade to be kept natural as a recreational area with easy access for people. It is equipped with wooden tables and benches, waste bins.

- The promenade of Emilian Mircea Chitul and Sf. Apostol Andrei, built in the lower part of the river embankment, near the water, and allows people access under the Centenary Bridge and the Decebal Bridge. It is equipped with benches for resting and waste bins.

- Sovata Street Promenade, The new green area is located at the top of the embankment, along which running and cycling tracks, generous green areas with gazebos, a sports field, pumptrack and other playgrounds and recreational facilities for visitors have been laid out. In the area near the Mountain Rescue headquarters, a self-washing toilet was installed during 2023.

- Promenade of Splaiul Crișanei - Cazaban streets, made at the top of the slope, together with a running and cycling track. In the vicinity of the Carol Bridge there are green areas, a children's playground and a fitness area.

- Tudor Vladimirescu - United Principalities Streets Promenade - made in the lower part of the embankment, near the rock created on the bank following the cleaning of the riverbed. The promenade has been designed with balustrades with viewpoints, architectural lighting and a raised embankment.

- Promenade of Independence - Emanuil Gojdu Streets - in the meadow area of the Crișului Repede river along Emanuil Gojdu Street, near the water's edge, with access under the Intellectual Bridge or Hobanată Footbridge, towards Independence Square, an area undergoing modernisation. The promenade is equipped with benches for resting and waste bins.

- Averescu Way Promenade - built in the lower part of the embankment on the left bank of the Crișul Repede river, along Calea Mareșal Alexandru Averescu street from Dacia bridge to the intersection with Grădinarilor street, equipped with benches for resting, waste bins and public lighting system.
