On January 10, 2024, the Regional Directorate of Roads and Bridges (DRDP) Cluj issued the start order for the works aimed at making the public lighting system more efficient, on the Oradea Beltway, located within the municipality of Oradea.

The work involves replacing the existing light fittings with around 1,200 new LED fittings and replacing the deteriorated lamp posts.

Existing faults will also be rectified, as well as ignition points experiencing operational problems.

The work in the first part of this year will lead to increased visibility and thus to increased safety for traffic participants. Also, the investment in LED technology will reduce electricity costs on the Oradea Ring Road – costs borne by Oradea City Hall, from the local budget.

The value of the contract is 1 966 251,84 lei (excluding VAT) and the work will be carried out over six months. The guarantee for the works is 36 months, informs Traian Bulzan, head of the National Roads Section Oradea.

On this occasion, Oradea City Hall welcomes the investment in the public lighting system for the Ring Road and thanks the partners from DRDP Cluj and SDN Oradea for the interest shown in this important artery, located in Oradea.
